I am a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the School of Computing and Information Technology, Makerere University. I obtained a PhD in Computer Science in 2013 from Eindhoven University of Technology, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in the Architecture of Information Systems group under the supervision of prof. dr. ir. W. M.P. van der Aalst and Dr. M. Westergaard. My PhD study involved investigating the use of business process simulation and process mining to analyse the resource perspective of business processes.
My research interests are in the areas of Business Process Management and Software Engineering, Service Oriented Architectures and Agile Software Development. My full bio
I am an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science, School of Computing & IT – Makerere University. I received my PhD (Computer Science) from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium in 2012, under the promotership of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang De Meuter. In my PhD research I developed programming languages to ease the development of mobile software applications – specifically distributed mobile applications and reactive context-aware applications. I received my Master after master of Computer Science from Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2008 and my B.Sc. of Computer Science from Makerere University in 2006.
My research interests lie in the areas of programming language engineering, ICT for Development, mobile computing, and crowdsourcing/participatory sensing. I am currently on a mission to use Computer Science research and technological innovations to improve people’s lives in developing countries.
